Vol 4 No 3 (2014)

Cover Page

It is a pleasure to be able to introduce the latest issue of the fourth volume of the Spanish Journal of Soil Science: with it we have reached a full 3 years of timely publication. This issue contains four interesting research articles on organic matter and bioavailability of chemical elements in the soil, carried out by researchers from different countries. It also contains a special opinion paper on the different approaches to soil conservation over the past few decades and where strategies should be directed to in the future.

We have before us the celebration of the International Year of Soil in 2015. During this year we are going to change the publishing system to a more versatile one, enabling automated metadata migration to different databases and indexing systems to improve the visibility of the SJSS. The Editorial Board wants to thank the Universia team for their professionalism and enthusiasm for improving the quality of the journal, and the authors and referees for the quality of their manuscripts and reviews.

We hope that this number is to your liking. In the meantime, we continue to encourage you to submit your research work to SJSS.

Sincerely,

Rosa M. Poch
