As Editor-In-Chief of the SJSS, I welcome you to this full, open access, electronic journal of soil science. This journal has been created to provide a reference point in the scientific literature for this specific area of knowledge.
Within its scope, the journal will therefore endea- vour to publish original, relevant, and high-quality research.
This will be possible thanks to the collaboration of the publisher Universia and the scientific knowledge provided by its predecessors: the journals Anales de Edafología y Agrobiología, Suelo y Planta, and Edafología, which have allowed the dissemination of advances in soil science in Spanish.
We offer a new platform for showcasing the latest advances in soil science, within a framework ap- propriate for digital distribution technologies, which provides wide accessibility for both authors and readers. The contributions are to be mainly presen- ted in English, in order to achieve optimal disse- mination, although there will also be contributions in Spanish and Portuguese. Finally, I would like to stress that, from the very beginning, the Spanish Journal of Soil Science (SJSS) plans to meet the quality requirements of international scientific publi- cations. Its content will therefore be evaluated with a view to indexing the publication and incorporating it into the main catalogues and databases within the shortest possible time.
We look forward to receiving your submissions. Best wishes,
EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
Dr. Rosa M. Poch
